Play Therapy
Northern Territory

With our extensive work over in the Northern Territory with Aboriginal communities, we were eager to be involved with the exciting project: Play Therapy Northern Territory

What is Play Therapy?

Play therapy is to children what counselling is to adults. Play therapy utilises play, children’s natural medium of expression, to help them express their feelings more easily through toys instead of words.

Play Therapy Northern Territory (PTNT) was founded in 2004 by Josephine Martin, who has an extensive history in children’s welfare and counselling. We spent a number of weeks in the community of Imampa (Northern Territory) alongside Josephine and her team at the Imampa school to capture a documentary series that demonstrates the effectiveness of play therapy, and why it should be considered as a wider practice around the world.
